Remove the belt and pull on the pulley, if it pulls out the shaft is broken and you need a new pump.

There is a pump pulley puller to get the pulley off the shaft and an installer to put it on the new one.

Come with the details, tell us what you tried so others don't try it.

The shaft broke off completely from the power steering pump and was rusted in the pulley WHICH IS PLASTIC with a metal insert so basically any force used to get the broken off shaft is gonna snap it.
TurnOne you NEVER have to take off the pulley unless your replacing the pump again. You can remove it without taking it off the car. Which makes it a fuckton easier.

dont use a pry bar. it will snap it also. use the part mentioned above by cutlass. i didnt have one of those around, so i used a hammer, and a 10mm socket, put the shaft in a vice and gave it a few taps, and SNAP!!!! the friggen pulley broke....got another one on the way to the stealership. goin pick it up now.

Im glad im not the only, i did a few donuts the past saturday and i belive im have the EXACT issue. This is the first time i did donuts in my t/a..
My steering gets really hard when im turning at slow speeds..i gas it and my steering gets soft/normal again and i noticed some what of a burned smell and aswell i noticed under the hood i had some what of a mist of p/s fluid on parts of my engine.
My p/s fluid is good and my pump seems fine atleat i think, no bubbles. Also a loud purring noise when the steering gets hard.
