no muffler?
so i just got my trans am about 2 months ago and ive noticed that it doesn't have any type of muffler, i was wondering if this is bad for performance or gas mileage

no, it'll be fine. I ran with an open cutout for a couple years.

ok, but ive been getting like 16 or 17 mpg, you don't think that has anything to do with having no muffler?

if anything your mileage should probably go up a little bit. I would look elsewhere. Is the car running funny at all? How heavy is your foot?

how many miles on the car and has a tune up been done? So the mileage is still bad after a new maf? What about O2 sensors, how many miles on those?

no offense but how did you not notice that the muffler was missing, I took my muffler etc off a few months ago for a bit and the thing sounded like a damn jet. Was kinda too loud for me and I love loud deep exhausts

Okay to run no muffler or tails
so is it okay to remove the muffler on my 99 z and just leave the over axle pipe with nothing more? i bought a magnaflow, but the tip on mine are too small to even make contact with the magna, besides i love the way it sounds without the muffler...ive been told it could hurt my exhaust valves, but it wasnt likely. What do you think? I dont want to risk damage for the sound, but dam it sounds good...Thanks

make sure all your tire pressure is normal and cleaning your MAF will help your mpg

thats not unusually low for mixed driving...it all depends how heavy of a foot you have.
I get as much as 32 highway around 18 mixed and as low as 9 around town.94 m6 Formula - Sold
