read post 13....cutlass has all the info you need there. Write the numbers down to take into the dealership with you as some dealerships are unaware of the extension.

Actually, I see sunset already has the info in this thread.....post 10.
i called my local spradley chevy dealer and they said no i only have 80k 8 years. They asked me for my vin. MY car is a 2002 trans am. So...bah just read the vin "break points" dammit i got my hopes up.

that's what I was saying....they're wrong. It was extended for 00-02 f-bodies to 10yr/120k. You either need to convince them or call a dealership that's willing to look it up. There is no vin break on them.....all 00-02 f-bodies are covered. They didn't look up the bulletin.

oh, well that link to the Cat warranty info page you showed me, says something like "Involved are all 2000-02 Chevrolet Camaro and 2000-02 Pontiac Firebird model vehicles, equipped with a 5.7L V8 (RPO LS1 - VIN G) engine and built within the following VIN breakpoints" So what exactly should i tell them to look up? The "bulletin"? Im not trying to be a smart ass or anything just i really am sick of fighting with this car. Put a grand into it and still needs more. Everything fell apart when i got back into town. So forgive me if im coming off as a jackass or anything.

You aren't coming off harsh in my opinion.

I worked for dealers many years back. Orion is correct about the bulletin. Although dealerships don't like to pay for things if they don't have to. You may have to show up in person and have them look up the bulletin.

I've never tried looking since I just deleted all that stuff on our cars, but I would imagine you could find a bulletin number on the internet if it hasn't been posted on here already. If you make their life easy by providing the information they are more likely to put a little effort in and investigate it further.

Yes there are VIN breaks for the Cat Converter extended warranty.
For a 2002 Trans Am, the last 8 digits of your VIN have to be in between
    22100003
    and
    22172466

eh i guess people are entitled to their opinion but ill take a trans am/camaro over a solstice or g8 any day. and i was also wondering why every company has the same damn vehicles on each line...silverado/sierra blazer/yukon? solstice/sky and like 3 suvs on each line. Bah i dont want to think too hard now lol.

Get the rear o2 sensors deleted out of the computer and either gut the cats or go without them... then no worries when you change your exhaust later...

glad to hear it all worked out for you. There's been other people before you that's had the same issues with dealerships. They just aren't aware of it. Just have to keep plugging away at them.
