new noise
new noise on my 2000 ws6 it almost sounds like a metal fan blade hitting the shroud if my car had one. at first I thought it was my cat but it doesn't do it when the car is in neutral which makes me think its the tranny { auto) the sound gets quicker and louder as u exselarate it gets a little quitter when it shifts from 1st to 2nd and even more when 2nd to 3rd.. any ideas

Does it make the noise in drive while at a stop? I only ask as it could be your driveshaft rubbing against the trans tunnel, exhaust or torque arm. Which could be the trans mount or motor mounts. We need more info.

Either something is rubbing on the driveshaft, you might have a brake shield that got bent, or something has come loose on a brake caliper.

O.K it makes the noise even when the car isn't moving,i truly believe that its in the tranny cause it goes away when I put in neutral its sounds like a tapping ,just wondering if theres a cammon problem with ower auto transmissions that I should know about before I take it to a shop. maybe this info helps that it has a hyper tec tune in it set for street strip. sorry for the spelling no spell check

Tapping? I'm thinking your trans mount may have collapsed or broken. Have you checked under your car to see if the driveshaft is contacting anything?

^^ Agree. Could even be the exhaust hitting when the transmission engages and things tip a bit with the torque.
