    new to the ls1

    i have a 1997 ls1 i am putting it in a 66 chevy nova what mod can i do to bring the hp up i am putting a ugly stick cam in what else can be done to this motors

    Everything listed so far will increase those numbers . If an auto, a nice high stall converter will help.

    i would like 4 to 500 iam going to use a t56 trans i have to find out what the motor came out of so i can from there i have to find somebody who can tell me i have casting number

    4-500 at the flywheel will be pretty easy to attain. Just need money.

    you said 97 ls1,in model year 1997 ls1 engines were only in corvette,98-02 in f-body.there are some 500 hp threads i had one a year or so ago. 400 is fairly easy to obtain, ls1 with afr heads,scoggin-dickey z+221 cam,fast intake,long tube headers is one combo that will make over 400 rwhp.http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...ighlight=500hp
