tell us more about what the car has already, what engine, stock? , gears, tranny, etc

The only way to be "fast" on that kind of money is nitrous.
You could work on the driver mod that'd probably help. lol
Otherwise, look into a stall converter if its an auto. Or, exhuast.

To be fast with 600 bucks?? Not that easy. Buy 600 dollars worth of lotto tickets and cross your fingers.
But in reality 600 bucks will get you some nitrous

Save for a 350 swap. You will also have to upgrade the tranny at some point. The t-5 is weaker than the rear.

Save up cash for the 350 swap....
Your wasting your time and money trying to mod a 305 which is probly a Tbi 305.
There awsome and dependable engines just not great for power...

im not really saying i want to be fast for 600 bucks but i just want to know where and what to start with.. some people say like pully packages and some say cam first.. some say heads first.. obviously 600 bucks isnt gonna make me (fast) but this is not my race car. just want my everyday driver to have a bit more growl

How bout buy a cheap 5.3 for about $400 a set of conversion mounts for about $40, and then use the rest to make it all work and fit. Im sure it will cost a little more than $600, but I guarantee it will be better bang for the buck than that 305 you have now.
