i have a 99 trans am that has a rattle, squeak, knock maybe that only does it when i take off in first gear. after that the car is fine.

First two things I would look at are the exhaust where it goes over the rear axle and the undercar heat shields.

Black- 99 WS.6 - Modified
Might want to check the motor and tranny mounts, followed by the torque arm.

1999 Formula WS6 M6-sold- 2001 Silverado Z71
If you can pinpoint it to LF or RF, it could be a shock or sway link problem. But those aren't super common. If its from under the shifter area, check the trans mount and torque arm mount at the trans. If its under your feet or seat, check the exhaust hitting the floor. Stock exhaust usually doesn't do that but aftermarket exhaust is well known to hit the floor.
Also, list all your mods to the car.
