need help with starting problem
I have a wierd starting problem in my 94 z28. If you try to start the car cold it wont turn over as if the battery was dead but if you turn it on and off really fast repeatedly it will eventually start. But once it starts and warms up it will start right back up with no problems. Any ideas what could be causing this. Someone had a vague idea that it might have something to do with the ignition cylinder. Does this sound like it could be the problem and does anybody know how to test it? Thanks.

Yep, sounds like your passkey/VATS needs help. Is your key really old? How does the resistor look? Is the cylinder heavily worn? Autozone sells cyl&key replacements for about $60...

not sure on the obd1 cars but on the obd2 cars vats disables the starter so it wouldn't try to start.
Start simple first. Clean the battery connections and make sure everything is good and tight. Check the ends of your battery cables and make sure they're not corroded also.
