Need help repairing head light .

My head light motor have started making a noise, is there some thing I can do to repair it myself? if so would someone show me how? I can't stand to hear the noise when it goes down.

you can try the free fix first. if not then you will have to pull the headlight motor out and replace the gear. the plastic gear is stripped internally and thats what it causing the noise. i tried the 180 fix on my headlight this past sunday but it didnt work for me.

new plastic gears are $15-20, while a metal (brass) gear is about $50. all can be found online or over ebay.

not all brass gears are the same.......i prefer the rodney dickman gears because it uses the rubber bumper

I have to agree with him on this one. I bought the gear kit from Rodney and I haven't had any issue for 2 yrs now. Get the brass gears. They are more expensive but last forever. Rodneys kit comes with everything you need and easy to follow instructions.

I did the gear rotation and it worked like new. I don't know how long it is going to last, but right now it works. Thanks to all that gave me the infro. to fix the head light. and save me some money.
