yellow- 2002 Collector Trans Am
Need help to ID this engine.
So im deployed right now to the gulf or else I would go check out this engine my self. Im not very familiar with the LS family and I have been looking for a new motor for my trans am. I came across this and thought it was a great deal and told him im going to buy. He told me it was for a Gm truck, but now that I look it up its looks like only 5.3 came in trucks. so this isn’t a ls1??? so I guess this is a no go??? Could it be a ls1?

Chances are the seller doesnt even know what he has, see if he can send you pics of the casting numbers... I would be weiry buying a motor while your deployed. Since you really cant check the actual condition of the motor who knows what the inside looks like. Its your call though.
