    Smile Need advice please.....

    hi,can anyone help me ?
i have just fitted an LS6 manifold from SLP to my '98 trans am.when i started it up,after the initial start up fast idle,it now idles at just under 1000 rpm.i have checked that there are no air leaks, and everything is tight, but there seems to be a 'rushing' air noise from the manifold.has anyone had the same problem? is it maybe that the volume of air now needed for the manifold requires the ECM to be re-mapped? i carried out the fitting to the instructions given by SLP,and all of the gaskets are new.
    i appreciate any advice given

you have a leak somewhere. The safest way is to go around the lines and manifold with propane and listen for a change in idle.

Cool, thanks.i have tried something similar,it was a spray can of brake cleaning fluid, but didnt seem to make a lot of difference,so i will try the propane.D'you mean like the propane burners you can get from the DIY store?
I had problems securing the EGR pipe into the fitting on the manifold.it feels tight, but i guess some air could be passing thru the fitting????

I would say you've probably found your problem. Pull that tube back out and see if the o-ring is still there. I bet it's either pinched or missing completely.
