need to add new water drain holes to hatch?

I have a 2001 SS and whenever it rains, ~1 qt of water accumulates inside the hatch assembly and runs out of the front hatch drain holes when I raise the hatch ( and quite a bit gets into the car). There are two "plugs" near the back of the hatch that look like might be lower and a way to keep rain from building up in the hatch. Anyone had this problem? how did you solve it?

i had water getting into my hatch area, or the lowest portion of the hatch, anyhow, its because when i was driving in the rain it was being kicked up by my rear tire and being splashed into the hatch area. Some sealent and i was good to go.

I think problem is a drain hole issue

    sunsetorangess,
thanks for your reply. As a further clarification, it looks like the water accumulates in the glass channel and since there is no drain at the center back of the window, the water drains along that channed when I open the hatch. Looks like other that putting some sealant in that area, I'm stuck with another case of form vs. function.

Is the rear of the seal in good condition? The hatch could also be out of alignment.
