Name that part (and tell me where it goes)
During the course of flushing the cooling system and changing out all the hoses, I happened upon a mystery part. It was after removing the heater hose assembly that I noticed this laying on the passenger side exhaust manifold:
It is foam and is approximately 4-1/2" long, 3/4" wide and about 3/16" thick. I have hunted all over that side of the engine compartment and have no idea where it came from. No marks on it, and just a bit of adhesive on one side. Anyone?

That could be... I pulled the entire airbox out to change the belts and access the upper hose. If it is from there I have no idea how it traveled to the exhaust manifold.

Might be the foam from the short side of the airbox lid.

Do you have the JAAM Ram Air kit? It kinda looks like one of those foam pieces.

Stock air box -- I'll pull it back apart and start checking seals. Thanks for the replies!

Foam
If you found it after removing the heater hoses and it was located on the passanger exhaust manifold it may be the foam pad that GM used to place under the heater hoses and the frame . Where the hoses lay on the frame there was at one time a pad there or it could be one of the foam sealing strips for the air box.

Any idea if that was in front of or behind the point where the heater hose assembly bolts to the midrail? I looked for adhesive marks and came up with nothing when I originally found it.
