My fuel pump is broken. Any way to make it work just ONCE?

I need to start my car to drive it to the shop but the fuel pump has been broken for a while. It cranks strong but won't turn over. Is there any way to start this damn thing just one more time??? Bang on the gas tank with a sledgehammer or pee in the center console? I don't want to pay for another tow.

if banging on the tank with a hammer doesnt work. u can try to spray a little starter fluid in the throttle body but be very careful with that

I beat the shit out of the fuel tank with a 4lb mini sledge but that got me nowhere. I used the started fluid and that worked like a charm. It only ran for a few seconds though. Soooo....I had my wife start the car after I sprayed the TB and kept spraying a little everytime it started to die. I quit after the smoke alarms went off Still nothing. Thanks for the help everyone.

The fuel pump on my van went out and I was stranded on the road about a block from the shop. I called my buddy back at the shop and told him what happened and could he rescue me. Well, he showed up with 2 cans of carb cleaner, popped open the hood and pulled the air filter out. He stood on the bumper, held on with one hand and sprayed with the other. I started the van, threw it in gear and motored back to the shop. Maybe not the safest thing to do but it worked.

I guess your wife is going to have to sit in the engine bay, keeping on the starter fluid while you drive it to the shop.

You don't want to get to crazed with the starting fluid, not good for motor.

No, it is a 99 Chevy 350 fuel injected. Carb cleaner works good as a starting fluid.
