    90% sure it's opti-related......

Take it apart, and clean/dry it, then try some light siliconing to resist water

Had to replace the OptiSpark when I had my 97Z for the same reason.
I'm surprised it hasn't thrown any codes.

Could be the opti. Could also be some condensation in the wire boots. When it is nice and dry take off the wires and put some dielectric grease on the boots. Do the opti side and the plug side. You might even want to take a hair dryer and make sure they are good and dry.

Check your plug wires. While the car is running, use water in a sray bottle and spray the mist across youre plug wires and see if theyre arcing. Do it at night, its kinda hard to see in the daytime.

if you have a 97 assuming lt1 ive herd the water pump leaks on distibuter and if its doing in the rain you need to check plugs and wires its probily doing it due to the moisture from the rain

Did that multiple times a long long time ago. Pulled them all off and put dielectric grease on it as well. Both ends.

need to get a scanner hooked up to it sometime.
