Could be the OP was talking about aftermarket coils. Cutlass is right though, no need to change out ignition components on our cars other than routine plug and wire maintenance.

MSD makes them.
I am always hesitant to enter into the MSD vs. stock coil discussion. Mainly it is not definitive if a MSD coil will do anything at all for a slightly modded LSX motor. The equipment necessary to measure any gains/losses is rare to find in any shop. I was lucky.
My stroker motor is built to the 9's. Higher compression and higher rpm power curves. We had shift points set to 6200rpm and was seeing a "float" at around 5900-6000. We thought it was a fuel pressure problem. Nope. Finally (all nighter) we found the spark was blowing out in 3 cylinders.
On a scope you could actually see it.
Paid $700 bucks and got 8 new MSD coils overnighted from El Paso.
It fixed it. Clean spark all the way to 6200 rpm.
My humble experience is simple. Unless you have a extreme modified LSX motor save your $700. The stock coils are fine.

the stock coil has 48K volts going down a 8 to 10 inch wire, you do not need anything else to ignite all the fuel.

If any coil upgrade is worthy I'd say the upgrade to truck coils with heat sinks. $700 cheaper than MSD setup.
'02 ws6.....mods? nope

When installing the MSD wires, you may have to bend the spark plug boots for exhaust clearance.

Plugs freeze in heads. Wires weld themselves to the plugs.
