Mod the SS or go GTO??

Decisions I tell you.... Have a chance to get into a sweet GTO that I found. Ive always like the idea of the LS2 motor and the fact that half of it isnt hidden under the windshield. Would you mod the hell out of the 01 SS or dump it and get the GTO?

Depends on what you're looking for in a car. If you're wanting something primarily for a quarter mile car then keep the SS. If you're wanting something to cruise in and occasionally take to the strip get the GTO. The LS2 goats are pretty nice. Ride is great, fit and finish is great, and they have plenty of power.

Neither car will be a track car. The SS serves as a DD now, and the GTO would also. Just thought the LS2 platform was a better one to start modding, as opposed to dumping money into my 8 year old SS. Im being tempted by an 06 Silver Goat!!

Only you know what your f-body means to you. I wouldn't trade mine for any car but it's also not my DD and I have a GTO for that. If it were my only car and I could only have one though that GTO would be tough to pass up.

See thats what I was thinking. I can only have one right now. The F-Bodies are getting fairly easy to find. This GTO may be a once in a lifetime deal if I jump on it, seeings how I can grab another SS later on.

Keep the SS and mod it...it's probaly already about as quick as an ls2 gto due to being 3-400lbs lighter.

ya a once in a lifetime chance for regrets later on!!!! It really depends on what you want to mod. you could always do a motor swap and be just as happy. up to you

I tried that "but baby I want them both" talk and it went nowhere! was told one or the other. This is probably my 6th F-Body and the Goat would be my first.
