Mobile 1 oil switch
I have 53000k on my car and was thinking about switching to mobile 1 oil but I have goting some mixed opions on if there to many miles I don't think so but one of my opions was from the local dnyo he said that it might find leaks at some of the gaskets were the motor has that many miles but it doesen't leak know or use oil so I think I'll be alright but was wondering if anybody else has changed to mobile 1 or other syn motor oil at this mileage with out any problems or leaks, thanks

i've had some small leaks after switching oils. They always go away after the new oil works into the seals.I just changed from Pennzoil regular to Pennzoil platinum without any problems.I switched the camaro from Pennzoil to Exxon and had some leaking problems.I switched back. After a oil is used for a period it works into the seals. If you change oils this can cause leaking until the different oil gets into the seals.I wouldn't worry about it.

Synthetic oil actually has a smaller molecular structure than good old dinosaur juice, hence, if you have small gaps in gaskets or seals that the petroleum based lubricant can't squeeze through, the synthetic stuff may be able to make it. Unless the syn oil moistens the edges of the gapped gasket enough to cause it to swell shut, it will continue to leak.
