missing out.

just wanted to see if anyone could help me before i have to take my z to the shop. not sure what is causing the misssing out. every once in a while my car will start missing out. it will hardly go and then all of a sudden it clears out and fucking takes off. last time i drove it it started this crap and i got pulled over by a cop couse my tires starting spinning. i had the same problem aroung march or april. i thought it was my plugs so i tried to change them but soon reliazed that i did not have the paitience and i keep breaking the dam plugs on the rt side so i took my car to LG and they said i needed pluge and wires. after they changed them ir ran great and not im having the same issues. i just want to see if anyone might know if its something else or do i just need to put it back in the shop.

its runs like it is misfirning and then is surges. kinda like riding a 2 stroke dirt bike befor it hits the power band

ahhh... did you check out your throttle body at all to see if it's sticking any?

yes. im not sure if my mass air meter is going out, i cleaned it and put it back in the car and it ran ok 4 a while and then it starts this crap again. sometimes its only does it for a few seconds and then runs ok and other times it does it while driving in town but stops while on the hwy. its kinda pissing me off. i dont want to have to put it in the shop but i might have to

... do you have a screen on your MAF? otherwise, did you check the MAF for continuity?

yes i have a screen, i just cleaned it off with brake cleaner even though it was not dirty. and not i did not check the continuty

ooo brake clean? you didn't get it on any connections did you? for future reference, they do make MAF cleaner which isn't as harsh as brake clean.

check out the continuity, you may find your problem.

Any spark plugs in particular that were fouled? If it fixed the problem temporarily it sounds like a cylinder might be going.

well i just went and drove it for about 2 hrs and it is running fine. no misfirning. i dont know what the hell is causing this but it is getting on my nerves.

make sure all of your plugs are on the plug tight. best what to do it is with a wrench push them on snug in 1 motion stright not back and forth if you co back and forth u can break the plug but now when is the lst time u got your spark plugs changed? are u using nitrous ? do u hang in high rpm's l8ly ? you could just have a cloged injector or the fuel filter $9( it just takes 1 fill up of bad gas or contaminated gas to do this and clog you fuel filter/injectors ) is clogged and driving seems to get it all slushed up and flowing properly clean out you fuel system get a fuel filter and a lucas fuel system cleaner runs $6 at any auto parts store .when is the lst time u changed the fuel filter ? how many miles on the camaro ?

Yeah changing the fuel filter is a good idea..

Do you have headers? A melted O/2 wire or Spark plug wire intermitantly (spelling) shorting out can cause weird issues like this.

Just a weird option... I accidently left a screw driver under the hood of my 96. Wife told me the car was runnig weird, I tested it and sure enough it was doing exactly this kind of thing. Damn screwdriver was in between the batter shorting the positive to the A/C condenser. I'm SO lucky nothing bad happend.
