missfire when motor is cold?
my car hit 118,000 miles and now i get a misfire when the motor is cold.
i changed the fuel filter/i have 58psi pressure.
when i start the car cold i drive maybe a minute then it starts missing like crazy, ses light starts blinking and then after like a minute of missing it just clears up everytime and drives like normal?
gonna change the plugs tomorrow but that shouldn/t be it cause it would miss all the time.

yeah have ur code or codes checked it should narrow it down to a cylinder for u. plugs might be the problem only if there really old, wires is a possibility but dont throw parts at it. check for good spark on all cylinders, check the plug gap on plugs and look at there condition if they are wet it could be fuel or oil, fuel will evaporate in mins but the oil will stay. another possibiliy is ur fuel injectors can be dirty or plugged , 2 options cheap injector cleaner or have them flow bench tested at a shop. the bottle cleaner isnt gonna do anything . last but not least compresion check if nothing above helps posiblity that u have a burned valve or a cracked head . but u say that it clears up so most likey not the case , im thinking ur ignition sytem if its an intermitten problem
hope this helps

check your oxygen sensors I just had a problem with mine, the SES light would blink but it was because my plugs were all black due to a bad O2 sensor. Bought a new O2 got rid of the SES

My guess would be an intake gasket leak letting unmetered air in. Would go away when things expand.

i repaced the o2's and it got alot better
now it will only do it when the engine is warm and i shut it off and start it back up. now it only lasts about 5-10 seconds and at very light throttle positions.
doesnt set off the ses light anymore but it still missfires a little then clears right up and i can drive like normal
im gonna check it out a little more tomorrow and change the plugs
thanks for the replys guys
