Is it me or is it Haynes?

I'm putting new rotors and pads on the rear, and Haynes says,

"Install the outer brake pad; if you're replacing the rear pads, it's the one with the wear indicator on it, which must be positioned at the bottom"
They have a pic above this showing a guy putting in the tire side pad.

Now the pads that were on there, the pad with the wear indicator was on the inside which makes sense because the anit-rattle clip seems to go in one way only and the pads have two varying height tabs which butt up against this clip which makes it pretty certain that the pad with the wear indicator (longer tab) has to be on the inside.

I think they are wrong, but you have to second guess when you see something like that in a book.

Yea, that's what I figured, there's just no way it could go on the outside, you would have to turn the anti-rattle clip around, and if you did the high side would now be poised to slice right into your boot.

Looks like I need to write Haynes about a correction.

For those who have a Haynes book, this can be seen on page 9-6 last pic. titled 3.13l

Off to do the other side.

Hope that doesn't matter, 'cause they are on and I put it on the inside but with the low pad tang on the bottom, I pulled it away anyway 'cause I have S&D rotors and didn't think it could really work with them anyway, so I would think think it should matter.

Also, I had thought of putting it up top but it didn't make sense to me cause then the could end up being forced into the pad itself. Whereas on the bottom it would be pulled away from it.
