Maintenance advice on a 143k 98 z28 camaro
Alright my car is a 98 z28 camaro A4 and has a 143k miles on the clock. I got it with 132k 9 months ago and its my DD. The guy that had it before me was the only owner and was a older gentleman so i knew there wasnt much engine wear from lead foot. Over all its in perfect condtion and i want to keep it that way. I dont have any records from the prevoius owners maitenance. I change the oil every 2500-3000 miles with mobile 1 synthic 10w30 during the summer and 5w30 during the colder months. I recently had new brake pads, rotors, tires, fuel filter put on and replaced the knock sensors. I literly baby the hell out of my car like how every person should with there camaro, firebird, gto, vette etc. Before my next oil change i was going to seafoam the engine and trans to get all that carbon build up from 143k miles outta the cars system. Then i was going to get the oil changed along with a trans flush with replacing the trans fluids. What type of oil should i go with in the trans ? any other things/fluids i should change ? any tips or advice is appreciated thanks.

Good man.....taking care of your car should be a law......
If it were mine I would do the following.....
1. AutoRX the motor and transmission.
Transmission

Motor
http://www.auto-rx.com/pages/applications.htm#basic
I would use Castrol GTX 10-30 and a NAPA/WIX or AC Delco filter for the cleaning and rinse phase for your motor.
Follow the instructions to the letter and to the mile. After the cleaning I would go with either Pennzoil Platinum 10-30 year round or Amsoil SSO 0-30 and any of the filters I mentioned above.....

I'm a big believer in AutoRX for a thorough cleaning without solvents.
Flush and fill your trannie with Amsoil ATF

Change out the rear end fluid with Amsoil ( your choice of viscosity or OEM viscosity)
NAPA/WIX air filter and go another 150,000 miles ...

Thanks for the advice sarge i just put in my order for some auto-rx and ill be switching over to Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30 my next oil change. Whats your opinion on seafoaming the trans and engine ? do you think it even works ? i had the guys at autozone swearing that it will drastically improve my engine and tran life and get rid of all that carbon build up. I have also seen commericals saying that z-maxs stuff is just "amazing" Im curoius to see what an acutally expert says on it

Great advice sarge.
I used dyno oil my first 60k, then 3 /2 of PP / Castroil mix. Now at 114k. When I hit 120k I will go the pure PP route.04 C5 A4 Torch Red - sold
