    Maf Sensor

Does anyone know how to test the maf? If you can what the reading should be when you hook a digital multi meter to it? I'm having some problems with air fuel metering I checked the wires they seem to be fine, clean and all.

Why do you suspect the MAF, is it throwing codes? ENG SEN fuse OK? Maybe you can find something under P0101 - www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic8917.php

I was talking to some of my instructors at school about the problems I've been having and the said ONE of the possible problems could be the MAF.

I was having a problem with my maf, but it ended up being the engine sensor fuse. Do you have any codes?

The problem is my bank 2 o2 sensor upstreem keeps going out. The only codes I've been getting are "system lean bank 2" and "air fuel metering" I have replaced the o2 and the codes are gone now but I'm sure it will happen again this was not the first time.

My lt1 had the same codes popping up. It was the elbow after the maf sensor. Check for vacuum leaks. Also try the coupling between the maf and the tb. I have read about people having the pcv rubber elbow drying out and cracking. Check that also.

Check out this thread. The last post I explain. It was for 1998, but I'm sure it's the same or similar for newer models.

Not sure what is going on. I'm getting an intermittant P0101 that is accompanied by Lean Bank 1 and Lean Bank 2. Have to rip into it when I get home.

My first guess is a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF since it is both banks. Maybe a clamp came loose or air is getting in where the bellows is. If not, I would look at the MAF itself.

I replaced the entire PCV hose assembly as it was checked pretty bad at the T/B. The MAF is the GM replacement that was installed on the car around 2,500 miles ago -- had no issues until the past 2 weeks. I run an Amsoil EA filter so no oiling of the MAF. Not sure... will do the pinpoint tests when I get home.

Yeah I know you can check voltage on them to make sure they are working and getting the proper power supply. Hopefully yours isn't bad as they aren't exactly cheap. If you need one, I have a SLP MAF sitting in the garage....OK OK I know you don't want it, but just sayin

Ummm. I'll pass, but thanks for the offer. I have my original MAF that has been hacked up by a prior owner. I could always pop it on as a quick check.
