M6 upper shift boot question

okay...so my upper shift boot...the one that hides the lower shift boot and the mechanical crap and makes the center console look all nice and pretty...it's got a rip in it...and the plastic retainer that is supposed to hold it in place is broken and well...doesn't work as advertised.

question is...

i can get the upper shift boot from the pontiac dealer for about $35.00 but they can't determine if the plastic retainer comes with the boot or not. it's not listed on its own and the diagram doesn't really show a retainer with the boot but the guy said that he "assumes" that the retainer comes with the boot.

does anyone know for certain before i run down tomorrow afternoon and order the boot?

35.00??? Shit I got quoted 65 for the boot and retainer at the chevy dealership. Im gonna have to go to a Pontiac dealership. Damn.

hahaha...right. Year One wants over $100 for the boot, local Chevy garage wants $47 and the local Pontiac wants $35.

thanks for the info everyone. i went to order it today but both of the parts guys went home sick before i got there...but they'll be back in the morning...when i'm in class. damnit. hopefully they are still there in the afternoon when i get out.
