so. not to thread jack or be off topic.
but my oil pressure has been high ever since dropping a new LS1 in it. (its the 2004 model) and maybe thats the reason. but would this and a catch can help the oil pressure? or do i just need a new tune? or is it just something that works its way out as the engine breaks in?
reads around 50 on normal driving.... but it was always 39 to 42 when the old engine was in it

50 is better, the low oil readings from the old engine are probable indicators that your oil pump was fixing to go.

Also a 04 ls1 has the block of a LS6 and you most likely have a LS6 oil pump too. They flow better and have a higher volume.

Agree. By the way SMW6TA my iddle is much better. thanks for encouraging me to do the cover. It wasnt cheap but Im happy that it fixed my crappy idle.

I was going to do headers next but after talking to a few guys that have borla adjustable exhaust I will need cats to eliminate the raspy noise. i guess i'll save some money and then buy a whole setup. I'm going to get a phoenix on my hood soon.

if i could do my exhaust again i would get the same kooks 1 7/8 and ORY
but i wouldnt get the SLP LMII... i would just get a custom made catback with 2 LMII resonators and put them on both sides of the duals just before the tips just to eliminate that little rasp at 2100-2400rpm

We seem to have the same things on our minds. I was looking at my hood last weekend and thinking "It's going to be another yr before I think I can afford the Mecham hood and a paint job, might as well put the bird on the hood.

lol im on the works of doing a whole hood wrap. It going to be around $200 from a local guy. I gave him some pics of the traditional birds and he will send me some emails of how it will look on the TA.

yeah the classic looks nice. im not doing the hood warp. I might just leave the car like it is for now. I had a bad day and i messed up my center console. I'm getting tired of these appearance mods. i think ill take a break from them.

I think i might do the hood decal myself if I order it. I'm really should get headers but i need cats for it. i don't want raspy sound.

nice thx. im thinking of doing the BBK with their ORY and I already had borla adjustable exhaust. Cutlass has that same exhaust (not the same headers) and he told me that even with the adjustable plate close it still sounds raspy at 3k rpms. thats what im thinking i need cats.

well mine has hardly any rasp at all except for the 2100-2300 mark...
idk why everyone discounts SLP LMIIs for being too raspy???

I will admit it does sound raspy at the 4500-6000 rpm range, but I'm not to focus on the exhaust as much as I am shifting and keeping her straight

But at idle and below 3500 it gives it a nice rumble. Can't wait for new heads and cam

Rasp is hard to pick up on video, but you'll know the unpleasant sound when you hear it. Listen to this truck's glass pack exhaust.
