you can swap a ls2 in no problem..you will need to make sure and buy the conversion harnesses as some sensors are relocated and different . the only thing i would be concerned about is being a 98...our PCMs are a little different. best to ask frost in a pm if there are any issues 98 pcm related to swapping to a Gen IV motor

He said he has a '00 ss. But I'd still ask Frost as I'm thinking the PCM will need setup for the LS2.

    Thanks for the replies

Yes it's for my 00 ss
I take the harnes kit from a car with the ls2 or buy new kit?

The ls2 will fit with the stock motor mounts or I have to make modifications?

I'm I'm Cali. So will that be legal for the smog check?

You can use the pcm you have in the car now - you just need it retuned so it knows it's running a ls2 instead of a ls1. As for the smog testing - IDK. You may need to consult with a tuner on that one. I dont' know how different the emissions are from a ls1 to a ls2.

emissions shouldnt be a issue as the ls2 is a production engine..and that mostly depends on your exhaust. there a kits available to buy. for simplicities sake just buy the kit. speartech sells them i am pretty sure. the motor mounts like normal.

the ls2 is a better platform in terms of a building platform. as it can be made into a 414ci and is a GenIV. where as the ls6 is a gen III and can only be make into a 383..if you dont plan on modding at all ..a ls6 would be good as it is cheaper and a driect bolt in basically.

the ls2 is hands down better if you want to mod it at all. there is no replacement for displacement

How much the kit goes for?

I like the ls6 cuz it's the heart from the zo6 or ctsv
And I knw it has some power

    Ls2 I like it cuz it's newer
I will do some mods to the motor. Probably ported heads and a cam. Not to big of a cam
And I will get some LT with high flows

So what souls be the best one for that?
Ls6 heads is a good upgrade for ls2?

you should do a little research. the 243s are on both the ls2 and the ls6. the difference being that the ls6 243s have the light weight valves. besides that the casting is the same.
