LS1 Lifter vs LS7
how can you tell the difference (visually) between the two?
also how can you tell if a lifter is bad when looking at it
I have bad lifters and I am buying a set of used LS7s (used on a dyno motor only) and i want to be sure i am buying what im being told im buying and that they are in good shape
thanks!

Shady.... I KNOW thats not YOUR hand!!!!!
dude!
The ls1 lifter part number is referenced as the LS7. It would be very hard to buy new actual LS1 lifters.

BUT, remember to change to 7.350 pushrod length because the LS7 lifter is LONGER than the stock lifter......you will need to make up for this difference....

OK.......so the LS2/7 tray cup height is the difference????? OK, well that isn't the issue I was addressing...........My point was if one is re-using the LS1 cup with LS7 lifters. Many members state LS7 lifter in an LS1 cup have resulted in a shorter pushrod length (the most accurate being 7.35). In fact I confirmed this with Thunder Racing and Texas Speed, although measuring should always have the final say. So..........you may be right about YOUR statement, but I never involved the LS7 cup into the equation.....so your ia correct stuff isn't applicable in reference to the totality of MY statement. Thanks for the info though.......lol

Wonder if this could be my problem?
I just did a LS7 lifter swap and swapped in CM 7.4" push rods because I was told the length would not change with the new lifter.

I wonder if the difference between the length has to do with which heads you have. The 98's have 8?? (something) while the later yrs use 241's.
I just ordered a PR checker form ws6store. ($20 in case any one wants to know)
I hope this is what my issue is. I just don't want to tear a block out and find out it's for something like this.
