    LS1 Into A '65 Truck

Howdy. I need some advice. A friend and I are thinking of putting an LS1 In a 1965 Chevy Pickup. What would be the best tranny to put behind it and what problems might we run into? Post here or drop me a line at fenderplayer2@comcast.net. Thanks.

If the 65 is a stick, adapting the clutch linkage to the T-56 hydraulic is impossible without a custom mastercylinder/clutch master cylinder/power booster set-up. Have to look close for these but they are out there.Look in vintage truck magazines like Classic Trucks/or Custom Classic Trucks(two different magazines). The GMC's have a hydraulic clutch and the Chev's have a mechanical linkage set-up on the clutch. Look at the ads and contact some of those companies. Of course you can skip all that and go with an automatic,I like sticks myself. I have a 63 GMC beat-up truck that I have slowly been restoring for the last 14 years. Someday I would love dropping in the LS series motor-good luck!
