    LS1 Install in a 68 Chevy Truck

Alright, I built my truck from the ground up, it looks good, and it's quick with my vortec 350/700R4 combo, but it's not fast enough. I'd like to install an LSX motor. What all would I need to complete this? Or are there any other threads already out there commited to this? Thanks in advance.

LSx would work. They make swap parts for most cars that you would be able to adapt to your truck. If the engine is good you could just do some work to it. What kind of power are you looking for? Do you have fuel injection now? If you do an LS swap do you want to keep the fuel injection or go to a carb?

I would like to use FI although at this point I am running a carb. I would like for the motor to push around 400 and I don't have a specific setup that I have to use

Check out the "s10 ls1" thread maybe that guy can give you some help on what it takes for the change over. Just a thought good luck. Sounds like a fun custom project too.

You could get a truck 6.0 and change the cam that would put you close. All you would need is some motor mounts for the ls and some headers. Get a complete engine with accesories and computer. What tranny do you have? You might want to get the donor trans too.

I have a 700R4 right now, but I'm hoping that I get the entire donor combination. And what are some good places to find a good donor, besides the junk yard?
