Anyone know why a 99 vette has 350 hp and a F-body only 305 or so? Is it exhaust or engine internals?

those are GM advertised hp numbers.........not reality.......lingenfelter dynoed my car a 2001 z28 at 287 rear wheel hp when it was 100 percent stock and 0 miles .....thats 330 flywheel hp....vette has true duels........bout the only diff i can think of......prolly good for 10-15 hp

Again gm claim, how would corvette guys react if they found out the motors had the same power. I f anything the corvette was overated, the thing puts down roughly 290rwhp because of the irs.

A magazine did a dyno test in 98 they had the same rwhp. But the vette weighs less, that what makes them faster.

Ok, thanks. I'm puttin a 99 in my Jeep. I could ask u guys a lot of questions. I'll use a camaro program but it's a vette motor. Since there was a 40hp difference, I was lookin for anything tangible to make sure I don't lose any power.

vettes arent necessarily faster.. depends on a shit ton of things..

raced a c5 hardtop in my 99z28 6 speed, mods were only lid and borla exhaust......i can only assume this FRC c5 was an auto as i beat him by a car from 70-110 or so
