Black- 2002 Z28
LS1 Engine Sensors...where are they???
I have gutted my 2002 Z28 car for road racing and bought the following gauges:
Fuel Level
Oil Pressure
Oil Temperature
Water Temperature
Tach
Speedo.
Tach and fuel level are hooked up and working, but where on the LS1 are the sensors for the oil pressure, oil temperature, and water temperature?
Can I use the oil level port in the oil pan for oil temperature?
Many thanks in advance to all you LS1 wizards out there!

Oil pressure gauge is behind the intake manifold.
Water temp is on the side of the drivers side head above the first spark plug.
Oil temp you have to tap into the oil pan as far as I know.

I've always wondered if someone doesn't make an adapter for the oil filter where you can run a temp gauge there. Seems like I read a long time ago about someone that made one but I might be thinking about an aftermarket oil cooler. I'd take that over tapping the pan anyday although I think most people just tap the pan.

oil temp port
YES you can use the oil level port - i had a couple dozen specially made for my customer's sand-rails with ls1's and still have a few left if interested - they take the place of the stock plastic oil level sensor and they are made out of billet aluminum and are hard anodized so the threads dont gall up. it has a 1" hex on top and is still solid through the center so you can drill and tap either 1/8" pipe or 1/4" pipe - let me know if interested - they cost me about 23.00 each to have made when we did them ( comes with new o-ring )
you may call me also if you like
