Ls1 cam sensor issue please help
I have a 99 ta with a ls1 I just built the motor and had a tune by frost tune done to ECM and it started the first time sounded good then about a week after I drove it and it backed fired but started right back up so I took it back then it didn't want to start I would have to play with the gas it was throwing codes for misfire and cam sensor so I cleared them and it was still hard to keep running so I left it alone came back it started right up ? Then didn't want to start after now it's just throwing code for cam sensor it don't want to stay running by itself . I unhooked the mass air sensor and it will stay running by itself just has real bad miss . I put new cam sensor in no luck

is it a random misfire or is it tied to one or two cylinders?
Have you gone over all the sire harness yet looking for any pinched or bad connectors? possible a melted wire too close to the exhaust?

Start with the plug wires and make sure they are fully installed -- two "clicks" on the coil packs and one "click" on the plugs. Are the harness connectors at each bank of coil packs fully seated? How about fuel pressure? If you are lean you could be misfiring. Do you have access to a scanner?

Check the fuel pressure. A bad or failing fuel pump with give you a backfire.
