    ls1 block question

    I bought an 02 t/a. The motor is blown and I bought a 98 ls1 block am I gonna have probs puttin the heads from the 02 to the 98 or any other probs

    I believe one or two sensors might be a little different, think the coolant temp sensor is. Not sure what else but hopefully someone else will chime in

    98 T/A w/a little mods...

    The biggest differences between the 98 vs O2 block are that the oil jackets are not as good on the 98 as the 02. The O2 is a LS6 block with LS1 parts.

    I highly encourage getting a high flow oil pump. On the 98's the oil pump was a weakness that plague them that was fixed when they went with a higher flow pump and the LS6 blocks.

    I'm going to assume you are using the 02' heads. 98's valve covers differ from the 99's and up.

    This next thing is only an issue if you plan on doing a LS6 VCT mod. The 98 block will need to be notched slightly for the mention mod to work. It is not a performance mod, just a function mod. You can read about it here : Explaination of OEM PCV vs LS6 VCT Mod

    AGAIN this mod is not a requirement.

    Besides what Alex said about a couple of sensors that is it from what I remember. Everything should transfer over easy.
