Ls1 in a 94 gm 2500 sierra 4wd
hey guys long time no post, but i got a quick question for ya. a couple years back i wrecked my ta and have the engine laying around still. well, my dads truck was run without oil and we all know what happens when you do that. would the LS1 be any good in a truck, specifically a "work" truck. any time its used it is used hard, hauling wood, gravel, mulch, ect. would the LS1 be worthwhile to throw in there, since i have one just laying around, or would it not be able to cope with the more abusive nature of this truck?
Thanks

the last one was all cast iron, a lot stronger than the good ol aluminum block of the ls1. i didnt know how much difference that would make.

None at all. I have an all aluminum 5.3 in our Suburban. Coupled to our trailer it is lugging better than 13,000 lbs. back and forth to the track.
