ls1 427 with mpg increase.
I remember about a year ago i saw an artical with a ls1 427 that got about 25-30 mpg running about 450 -480 hp. has anyone seen this article. i want to rebuild my ls1 in my 01 ss and stroke it with this set up since gas is pretty high now. any sugestions? thanks

There are a few out there getting that kind of mileage with a LSX motor....I do not recall that particular article...however there are many real life 25-30mpg motors out there...it is all in the tuning/management and of course variables like gear ratio and shift points.....my 402 Stroker with an A4 (4L65E) and a 3400 stall gets right at 20mpg cruising at 75mph....and that aint half bad for the power we are running....I look around for you...any clue where you read it at...I'd be curious myself...

mystic- 95 LS, yes it says LS
That article might have been talking about the ignition set up like what is on the C6. When the engine is not under a load it shuts half the injectors off. Alot of the new GM V-8 motors are going to this set up.
