LS engine install for classic Chevy
I am looking for some prices or websites that I can start to figure out what is going to be the best engine for my car. I have a 56 Chevy I am going to put a twin turbo LS engine in backed by a t-56 6 speed. I would like to know where is the best place to look for and engine, trans, and turbo's? I would like the motor to be around 550-600 hp without the turbos but it will obviously need to be built with low compression. I am hoping for around 1000-1200hp with anywhere from 8psi-20psi of boost. Any info or help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You can try Scoggin-Dickey and GM Performance Parts for engine choices. You could even ask around here as there are some folks who have used junkyard engines and made diamonds out of them pushing 500 whp with N/A. As for the turbos, check out our Forced Induction section.

^^ Agree. There are lots of great aftermarket and GM parts that you can build a killer combination with. If you have not yet done it -- a subscription to GM High Tech Performance is a very wise investment in overall LS knowledge and combinations that work. Also, there are lots of cars out there making great power using homebuilt turbo systems that start with reverse mounted truck manifolds.
