    looking for a crate engine... suggestions?

    i recently bought a 98 trans am with 120k on it, it runs really well, but i bought it cheap so i could make it my own. any suggestions on replacement engines?

    you'll have to forgive me..... im a newbie and i dont really know the difference, im just looking for a new engine with a respectable amount of power. ...nothing crazy

    You could build a mild 402 for the price of an LS2 brand new.
    Or at least very close.

    i would say run that engine till its gone.. no need to waste money on an engine now.. put some boltons in and you should be happy with that..

    forged is refering to a iron block i'm pretty sure. the ls1s in our f-bodys is alumminum..plus forged 402 is nice!! alot of the big power players like the forged 402 becuase of reliablity and power

    hit up a ls1 or ls2 and H/C and you'll be golden! trust me its not too crazy but it will move. oh get yourself some SFC (sub-frame connectors)
