    lookin at some birds.........

so im looking at some trans am......and the one for the best price was a 2000 trans am, automatic with 64k on it.......now ive driving a stick almost all my life and for the price i cant say no to it (10k). so is there a big differace between the 6spd and the automatic? is it even worth getting a automatic trans am? or should i keep looking?

Its mostly personal preference. A 6 speed is a little faster stock(if you can drive), but most guys with automatics usually switch to a larger stall, and it evens out. I personally like the M6 but I would not turn down a nice car due to it being an automatic.

you'll get answers all over the place on this one. It's strictly preference. I have an auto in both my cars and wouldn't want a stick shift. A stalled auto is the way to go IMO. Ever hear of anyone missing a shift in an auto??

If you're gonna drag it at the track the A4s are great. 3600+stall and bolt ons kick ass. Stock rear lasts longer on auto too.

    Drive it and see.

Honestly, if you've driven stick cars most of your life you'll most likely find the A4 boring.

I've had all auto's except my '98 M6 Formy, and even I find my current A4 Formy a bit on the boring side at times.

It seems like unless you want to mod the A4, the LS1 definitely is better suited to the M6. You'll get better mileage with it, too.
