Lightening Strikes!

I live in Western NC and the last couple of weeks we have had some pretty bad thunderstorms, I have noticed that everytime there is a lightening strike nearby my car alarm beeps twice but does not continue to alarm. The wierd thing is it alarms after it lightenings and before it thunders

. I dont know if it spikes the system making the alarm sound or what but i have had no electrical problems so far. The sensitivity is also on the stock setting and has never been touched. Just wondering if anyone had encountered this and if there is anything i could do to prevent it.

A small movement detected by the sensor will make it just beep twice, parking lights - that's normal. Flipping my gas door closed while armed on the stock setting made mine beep twice. Try turning the sensitivity down a little.

Mine has always done the same thing. It actually does it just before a lightning flash. I think I read somewhere it has to do with the ionazation of the air/ground just before the lightning strike...like people who have survived near strikes say they feel like ants are crawling all over them just before it happens. I think our alarms are just sensitive to those (electromagnetic) fields for whatever reasons.
