LID

This is a discussion on LID within the General Help forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; OK. Have you tried installing the lid onto the bellows and THEN closing the lid onto the box assembly?...

Try that. It might line everything up and you'll be good to go.

K&N filters have a thicker sealing gasket. I would go with a paper filter, Fram, Wix.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Finally found a place that does LSx builds. Pretty close by my house too. Tonight I am going to sit down and price everything that I will be getting. Doing H/C/I, new rear end, SFC's, have lca's and panhard that are NOT adjustable. Should I get adjustable? Still not sure on lowering yet but want to hear inputs on yes's and no's. Also, please give me inputs on anything you feel I may miss when purchasing things.

Gonna be a street car with little track use. Wanna stay between 500-500hp and naturally aspirated.

I have the same problem SLP lid=smooth bellows=Blackwing air filter. I have a paper wix too..lol in a box ..Ive had problems in the past with the lid latches (only one on the left) that would not ''snap'' down without massaging....and would be loose after a couple of hard pulls?

There has been many a post about this before. People have had to trim down one of the edges on the smooth bellows to make it shorter.

What in your opinion is the best way to do that w/o damage?....sharp snips, razor or grind it down?
