    Angry Leaking Coolant

ok today i was driving to my softball game, just an occasional drive, then my bro calls me and tells me that the game starts at 5:00 instead of 5:30, well it was 4:50 so i got it up to 110mph, and made it to the game, but when i got there, my belt started slipping, i parked my car, and popped the hood and noticed that there was coolant all over the top of the hood and in the engine bay. i just couldnt pin point the problem, i know i didnt crack the block, because the oil temperature would have when down, i think its coming from the top of the engine because there was fluid under the throttle body/intake manifold. does anyone have any suggestions?

Check the hoses that connect to the bottom of the throttle body. They route coolant through the TB to warm it up, one may have cracked. If thats where the leak is, just get a piece of 5/16 heater hose and bypass the TB. Just go directly from the coolant crossover to the radiator with one single piece, its called the throttle body bypass mod.

Other place it could be coming from would be the waterpump. If its leaking coolant out of the weep hole, it will drip down on the moving belt, causing it to slip and to splatter coolant everywhere. Check it out and see what you can come up with.

checked the hoses and they are fine, i put water in the radiatior, and as soon as it started to fill up, coolant/water started leaking from the water pump...anyone know how hard it is to change a water pump????

Not a big job at all, if you have tools.

Exactly. You just need a set of basic hand tools and some available time.
