Knock Sensors?
Can a O2 Sensor trip off a code for the Knock sensors?
I just replace my 2nd O2 sensor this yr for my passenger side. Went to get the codes cleared again and instead of O2 codes it was the knock sensors.
The reason I had to change my o2 for a second time is I had to have a new o2 bung welded in my headers and I think he used the good one to hold the bung in place instead of using pliers. Didn't see him do it, I just suspect it, because the sensor was brand new out of the box when I handed it to him. After-wards codes keep popping up for O2 sensor.
Now I've had no codes for 20 miles and I've done several things that should have tripped it by now.

Post the actual DTCs, not just the (possibly incorrect) descriptions.

Cutlass, when should you change your Knock Sensors? Every XXXX miles?

your knock sensors get shorted out because they are under the intake down in some countersunk holes. the holes hold water and over time the corrode up the sensor and harness. the fix is to replace the sensors and harness then build up a dam of rtv around the holes so water cant run into them and start the problem all over again

I just found it odd that the codes popped up for knock when the o2 went out.
In Jan, I'm planning on getting the LS6 valley Tray and catch can install. I know I'll have to change the knock sensors out then.

Yes def check your harness and make sure its ok but it seems if your just getting the code for the rear one (bank 2) your harness is ok but check it to be sure. Also I cant stress this enough BUY ACDELCO knock sensors it took me 4 autozone/advance knock sensors to figure out they sucked the acdelcos were the same price on the internet and have been great. Replace both because they tend to go out in pairs with age.

well shit today the code came back
I need to ask Frost if my tune needs updating because of the LS6 intake that was installed.
Seems that this code keeps popping up ever since I installed it in Sep

I'm almost sure because I have also a 98 and when I did the tune with frost i ask him about switching to an LS6. he said that he needed to make adjustments to the tune. I don't think that it will throw the code that you are getting. I think the adjustment he will make is on the timing.

ya the ls6 intake wont cause it but when you had the intake off u may have broken or pinched the harness which is common or one of the sensor seal caps could have been moved allowing water to get into them
