K&N Air Filter Oiling
I couldn't find a specific topic in the archives...in the instructions that came with the K&N or on K&N's website... so here it goes.
After properly cleaning a K&N air filter and allowing it to dry....do you coat BOTH sides of the air cleaner with the oil recharge or just the air intake side (direct airflow) which is the bottom of the filter..
Can't find a specific answer from K&N
Seems to me coating the non-throttle body side (to prevent MAF sensor coating) and allowing it to soak in would be the best answer..
Oiling BOTH sides? Is it really necessary after coating/oiling the bottom to oil the top side which may coat the MAF?

The purpose of oiling the filter is to allow dust and other debris to stick to it. I would say that you would be fine coating one side as that is where all of the debris is likely to collect.
