I purchased the UMI K-member over the holidays. It is going to make a nice addition to our car. Less weight and better undercar accessibility.

I read that you can put UMIs a arm on the stocker then upgrade the k member later, so imagine it works the otherway around as well.

Yes you can use the stock a-arms on the aftermarket K-member. You don't get as much weight reduction that way though.
The aftermarket a-arms are much lighter than the bulky stock pieces.

well nothing much besides new interior and new sound system.
i had it schedualed to get the exhaust on. but that was about the time i started getting some bad piston slap. took it in and they said it needs a rebuild. its not a lifter. i know that much for a fact. so the exhaust is sitting in the garage right now.

but this spring and summer ill be ordering an LS6 longblock and intake, SLP air lid, LS7 clutch with new hydralics, pro 5.0 with luo's short stick, and UMI SFC (most likely weld-in) and a frost mail-in tune.

i will have a little extra change left over but not enough for a MWC rear so i was considering getting other goodies however it may be best to stop and save for the rear then.

i already ordered 28lb injectors and a ported TB

i plan to have the block, intake, clutch and pilot bearing ordered by end of march

and order everything else and get it to the shop by early june. (yes i know "You letting a shop do it?" i got an estimate and to me its worth the money to have someone who knows what they are doing install it)

im looking for low 12s (trap around 115) and around 400+rwhp

If the engine's coming out, I'd do the k member then instead of later. You can always pop in the suspension stuff easily later when you are ready
I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

why did you buy 28l injectors ? and a ported tb ? that money could go towards the mwc ..if i were you..id save every penny and get that rear asap..it will take a big "what if" off the table

Exactly. K-member first and then arms later isn't too big of a deal.

Like mentioned our K-member will work with the factory A-Arms or ours... so you can also upgrade to aftermarket A-Arms at a later date.

Also for those looking for manual steering, we have that K-member in the works along with rack right now

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the LS6 engine uses/needs the 28 lbs. injectors. His car has the 26er's.
