Make sure you keep an eye on that gasket. That's what will move around over time and allow dirt into your engine.

    Good luck.

    Was it a paper filter?
Dirt will be brown/black...the oil that you use on a K&N has a reddish hue though I think? It's been a long time I can't remember.

Lets hope it was'nt a k&n because it needs that gasket.I don't trust that gasket that why i won't get another k&n.

I had to take my lid cover off to get it seated properly. It's the only way to do it.Takes five minutes more, but its worth the time.
