    It's a good feeling...

I took Sunday to do some work on my cars. Some of you read about the issue I was having with my motor a few weeks ago. In light of the feed back I got, I went ahead and cleaned out my MAF with some spray cleaner. I thought I would have trouble figuring out how to take it off, but once I looked at it I was relieved to realize I would only need a screwdriver. I also cleaned out my air filter (first time since I bought the car 10 months ago). It was pretty nasty. I also replaced the weather stripping over my driver side door. Oh, and I got rid of that squeak in my clutch pedal (at least for now...) by spraying white lithium on the squeaky parts.

After all was said and done, I'm noticing a smoother ride and better throttle response, and a nice, quiet clutch pedal... Now she just needs a good bath.

It feels good to get free labor on my car

if the air filter was as dirty as you say it was then you should probably see an MPG increase too

It's all about the little things, especially those things that you can do all yourself.

I've been watching for that, but have not yet driven far enough to tell.

It does feel good to do things yourself. If any of mine are dirty it feels as if they dont run as good. Wash them and its like a tune up. Good for you.

Always feels good to do something yourself in lieu of paying someone else. With the collective automotive knowledge on this site, it is very easy to get competent advice and instructions on just about any type of vehicle repair or maintenance. Nice work!

I have to clean out my air filter and MAF as well. I always enjoy driving after that is done.

Yeah. I can't wait to get my PP throttle body, now. Another excuse to look inside and see what "needs" to be refreshed.
