    Interesting issue

Hey guys, I just got done installing a new 145 amp truck alternator in my 2002 WS six.
He charges the system great, however too surprising issues happened last night as I was pulling into my driveway. The first one was in reverse, the car completely sputtered and turned off. And then I rolled out of the driveway. Did again, was able to make it up my semi steep driveway. The second thing, of the night the alarm system went off twice. Randomly. Is this just a coincidence or is anything possibly related? I've never run into this issue before. Thanks for the help in advance.

The fact that these issues developed after work on the electrical system probably means that there is an issue. Our cars seem to be very sensitive to low voltages with all sorts of weirdness happening when a battery gets weak. I presume that you have no codes popping up?

Well, found what the issue was.....the alternator caught fire and torches my harness and some sensors.

Better check your power steering pump for leaks.

In one of my local car clubs one of the member's Camaro caught fire because of this leak and torched his engine bay.

Most of the time it's from a damn 60 cent o ring that may have be over tighten.

Hope you don't have too much damage to fix.

I've done what GM should have done in the 1st place. I relocated mine to the passenger side head to eliminate the issue.

I ended up filing a insurance claim and took it to the dealership, after all the work I've done, I don't feel like dealing with anymore.
