    Intake Lid

ok guys i got a question? im looking to buy a intake lid for my car, and i wanna know what lid is better. the clear intake lid from MTI, or the slp lid? also would the smooth bellow from slp fit with the clear lid from MTI?

Basically, a lid is a lid. What look do you like better? I have the SLP and have no complaints. I also ran a LS1 Motorsports lid on my '98 back in '00, I had no complaints on that one either.

As far as the smooth bellows, everything I have read on these boards calls it a cosmetic upgrade, and a waste of money from a performance standpoint. Apparently you can get a Fernco plumbing coupler for less than ten bucks at Home Depot that does the exact same thing.

One nice thing I just thought of with the clear lid: very easy to check if your filter is dirty!

well it dont really matter on how the lid looks, im just worried about the airflow goin into the intake. as for the bellow, i think ill just buy it from slp, because i need to replace the bellow from the factory because its getting old.

GM High Tech did a comparo of all the popular lids afew years back, and IIRC the SLP was one of the best. I don't have a link, but a bit of searching should turn up the article.

I have had good luck with my SLP lid bit it faded thought and I had to paint it. Plus it had a ton of casting flash on the bottom that I ported and polished.lol My friend has the MTI lid and it looks damn good tho.
As for the bellows they are expensive. 3x3 Hump hose is the cheaper version and it works the exact same.

Here is a pic of the MTI lid. As for flow ratings IDK. You can take the black lids and sand and conform them a bit, I took some 1000 grit and wetsanded it and then polished it
