Unhappy Installed door weather striping, now can't close door.

I have a 77 Camaro that I installed new weather striping on the driver's side door, now I can't get the door to close unless I slam it.What do I need to do to get the door back to closing like it was? I thought that it would start closing like it had after some time with the door closed out in the sun but it's still the same, the striping have been on the door about three months and it still will not let the door close right. need some help.

You may simply need to adjust your striker out a bit. Your door panel alignment will dictate how much you can move it.

I have tried moving the striker but that is will not solve the problem. if I do that the door will be sticking out almost 1inch before it can shut.I have been told that the rubber is too hard to work as it should and that I need to put Vaseline on it and keep the doors shut for a few days so that the Vaseline will make the weather striping soft enough to let the door shut like it should.I"ll be trying it today. will post if this works, the guy told me he had the same problem and someone told him about it and it worked.I hope it works for me also.

Very strange -- unless it is "off brand" generic weather stripping you shouldn't be having an issue.
