I use dino oils in all my cars due to cost but if the price keeps going up it'll make more sense to switch to synthetic for me. I just paid $44 for a case of valvoline.....that's getting in the crazy territory for dino. I was paying half that not to long ago.

    PM me an offer.

For me personally it's easier to keep all 4 vehicles using the same oil. Then I can just buy it by the case. $5 a quart is definitely something I would do though. I paid almost $4 a quart for the dino......not much of a difference there. I'll do some reading tonight on the XL line.

You could always buy in bulk and save even more. A 55-Gallon drum if the XL-Series equates to about $4.46 per quart, LOL.

    Sarge,

I am assuming you used the SEVERE GEARģ Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) Lubricant 75W-140 (SVO?

Did you use any additional friction modifier?

I am going to change my rear end lube to Amsoil, and don't want to be guessing on the FM. If you used FM did you use the GM stuff that is specific to the GTO, or did you use another brand? Also how much did you put in? The owners manual says 1oz.

Yeah I use the Amsoil Friction Modifier with the amsoil 75-140...I use the entire 4oz's. But my rear diff isn't stock at all...I would use 2oz's for a stock diff.
